Join us on May 4 from 6–8 p.m. as we celebrate the start of the Melinda E. Pittman Theatrical Collection! Multipurpose Room (first floor), Newman Library, 560 Drillfield Drive, Blacksburg, VA.
In celebration of the release of the Melinda E. Pittman Theatrical Collection in Special Collections at the University Libraries, Melinda Pittman, Virginia Tech Theatre Class of 1975, will give a short talk about the intersection of social justice work and the arts, and will then take questions.
The reception will include refreshments, live performances, and multimedia displays of stage and screen plays, along with posters, programs, photographs, and original production and artistic notebooks that are part of the new Virginia Tech collection.
Pittman is an award winning playwright, stage director, composer, and performing artist. Pittman’s best known work is Wonderbroads, which the won the 2000 Angus L. Bowmer Drama Award from the Oregon Book Awards.
The event is free and open to the public.
