 | | Art + Architecture: Searching for textbooks in Addison
Saturday, August 08, 2009 (1007 reads) |  The library carries some textbooks, either as part of the regular collection or in Reserve if placed there by faculty. Using the list of textbooks at the University Bookstore site, you can search Addison, the library catalog, to see if any are available for check out.
Note that the library owning a copy of your textbook does not mean you can avoid purchasing your own copy. Text books kept on reserve will have a short check out period: two weeks or two days for most books. Text books in the regular collection will commonly be recalled by other students in your class, also shortening the length of time you can have an item checked out.

Art + Architecture: Art + Architecture Library open for exams July 3-4
Monday, June 29, 2009 (1046 reads) | Newman Library and the Art + Architecture library will be open July 3 and 4, 2009, for the Summer I exam period. July 3, 2009, is the day when Independence Day will be observed, and much of the university will be closed that day. To accommodate exams, Newman and Art + Architecture will be open 8:00am to 5:00pm Friday, July 3 and 9:00am to 1:00pm Saturday, July 4. (The Veterinary Medicine and Northern Virginia Resource Center will be closed.)
No pickups from the remote storage facility or courier service deliveries among branches will occur on Friday, July 3. Regular summer hours will resume on Sunday, July 5, 2009.

Art + Architecture: Art + Architecture Library to hold open house Mar 20
Thursday, March 05, 2009 (1609 reads) | The Art + Architecture Library will have an open house between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., on Friday, March 20th, to coincide with the School of Architecture + Design's Ferrari Symposium III. A selection of our notable architecture materials will be on display throughout the day. Staff will also be on hand to provide information about the Library and its collections, image resources, and many architectural drawings.

Art + Architecture: New circulation desk at the Art + Architecture Library
Monday, July 21, 2008 (2969 reads) | As soon as you enter the Art + Architecture Library, now located on the first floor of Cowgill Hall, you will see a spectacular new addition to the library space. Tim Castine, a member of the School of Architecture + Design who works out of the Burchard Shop, has designed and hand crafted a beautiful but very practical circulation desk.
