Every year, Virginia Tech’s Science Festival draws curious visitors from around the New River Valley and delights them with interactive demonstrations, hands-on experiences and even live performances that incorporate science, engineering, technology and math. This year, the University Libraries hosted a number of exhibits in Newman Library’s Multipurpose Room. Visitors learned how to engineer landing pads and tested their designs with a lego drop. They tested virtual reality technology that allowed them to “bike” through the mountains and explore nature. They got an up-close look at how 3D printing works and even got to try their hand at the technology.
